About

Skarbnytsya is a creative agency and living archive supporting emerging contemporary artists from Ukraine and Scotland. At its heart, Skarbnytsya is a treasure space - not just of artworks, but of stories and meaningful collaborations.
Skarbnytsya bridges communities across borders, building a network of artistic solidarity and exchange. Our exhibitions not only showcase visual art, but also spark critical dialogue on contemporary social and political climates in Ukraine, Scotland, and beyond.
Founded in Glasgow in 2022 as a response to the war in Ukraine, Skarbnytsya is a Ukrainian word for the space where the country holds its treasures. The project was born out of a willingness to protect and cherish cultural heritage and creative expression during times of war.
We assist artists with curatorial production, art management, and exhibition design. We also connect artists to new audiences and help them navigate the creative industries in the UK.
We believe in art as resistance and connection. Every exhibition is a testament to the resilience and vision of our participating artists. Since 2022, our exhibitions have grown in scale and ambition, featuring over 80 artists and raising over £12000 in support of Ukrainian creatives and humanitarian efforts. A portion of all sales go directly to charities aiding those affected by the full-scale invasion.
